Getting there
Flights

A new Flight service now operates between Wanaka and Christchurch. The new service is operated by Air New Zealand subsidiary Eagle Air and their flight time is around one hour. Bookings can be made through Brooker Travel or directly with Air New Zealand.

Wanaka’s central business district is 10km north of the International Airport and takes approximately 10 minutes to reach by car. A taxi costs approximately NZ$25.00. However, if staying at the Edgewater Resort a mini-bus will be available during the festival.

You could alternatively fly to Queenstown or Dunedin then either hire a car at the airport or take the local shuttle bus/coach service. The drive from Queenstown will take approximately 80 minutes. The drive from Dunedin is approximately 4 hours.

Other

Hire a car or take the daily Intercity bus service from Christchurch via Mt Cook (these buses also operate to and from Dunedin and Invercargill, as well as the West Coast.) For timetables of these Intercity services visit their website (www.intercitycoach.co.nz).
